Vaccination is mandatory for NHS staff in England

Vaccines against corona have been made mandatory for employees working under the National Health Service (NHS) in England. British Health Minister Sajid Javid has said that NHS staff should be fully vaccinated from next April. So far, 133,000 NHS workers in England have not been vaccinated against corona. The deadline for them to be fully vaccinated is April 1, 2022. However, if there is any other reason including health, it is not mandatory for such people.

Officials said employees who did not receive both doses of vaccine within the stipulated time could be fired. Due to this new policy of the government, it is estimated that about 126,000 people including 73,000 NHS employees and 35,000 care workers will be able to retire from their jobs. Vaccination is being made mandatory as the government believes that the disease cannot be transmitted if the health workers are fully vaccinated. Employees who do not want to follow the government’s directive are expected to retire, which could lead to a major crisis in the UK health sector.
